Limitations

I am in a position of authority and may encounter resistance to adopting a more social role. I am also relying on “relatability” as an instructional device. 

 

By correlating Christianity to yoga philosophy, I run the risk of falling into cultural appropriation within the study itself. The importance will be to emphasize discomfort, acceptance of discomfort and space for Other, versus the comfort of perceived similarities.

 

Because the students who have enrolled in this training are a limited to a narrow slice of the population, they will not be representative of the larger culture. A larger, more diverse sampling of people over a longer period of time would be needed to decide efficacy more broadly.
